There seemed to be some delay on certain user interface operations but I can imagine using this to replace some activities that might otherwise involve a laptop, specifically anything that can be done in a browser or app and using the cloud. Samsung has something called DeX (Desktop eXperience? ) which is a shell that provides a better user interface for working with external hardware than the Samsung phone default. When I tried connecting it to the monitor, I was impressed. It has a USB type C port for charging and data exchange. Some time ago I wound up with a Samsung Galaxy S10+. (Full disclosure, I actually plug a 3.5mm audio cable, a network cable, and a power cable into the laptop as well not quite wireless yet). This type of connection might even provide enough power to avoid using the laptop battery. Basically, I use a USB type C cable to connect the laptop to the monitor and then I have an external screen, keyboard, and mouse, using whatever audio comes with the display. ![]() That monitor also has USB ports (the kind into which you plug USB devices), so I plug my keyboard and mouse into those. My most recent monitor has a USB type C port as well. My last two laptops have had the new larger USB type C port (not the ports into which you plug USB devices such as mice, but a port like those typically at the bottom of a droid phone). ![]()
